Logitech lanceert direct drive G Pro racing wheel

Waar Thrustmaster al ruim een jaar bezig is met het teasen van hun direct drive wheelbase komt Logitech vanuit het niets met de G Pro op de proppen. De G Pro racing wheel wheelbase van Logitech levert 11Nm en vist daarmee in dezelfde vijver als de Moza R9, de Fanatec CSL-DD icm boost kit, Simagic Alpha Mini en de ImmSource ET3 om maar wat voorbeelden te noemen.

Het prijskaartje van de Logitech G Pro racing wheel is met €1099,- fors te noemen. Weliswaar krijg je een wheelbase met stuur maar heeft Logitech in tegenstelling tot veel andere fabrikanten geen eco systeem met meerdere sturen of andere accessoires waardoor het maar de vraag is of de G Pro racing wheel net zo'n succesnummer zal worden als de G29 jaren lang is geweest voor het merk.

De Logitech G Pro racing wheel is in staat 11Nm aan kracht te leveren en zit daarmee op vergelijkbare hoogte met de Simagic Alpha Mini en de ImmSource ET3 welke 10Nm aan maximaal koppel leveren en ruim boven de Moza R9 welke 9Nm aan maximale torque kan leveren en de CSL-DD icm Boostkit van Fanatec welke 8Nm levert. Puur afgaande op te leveren Nm's wint de Logitech G Pro racing wheel het dus. Het aantal Nm's is echter maar een factor op basis waarvan men een wheelbase zou moeten kiezen, factoren als software, de snelheid waarmee de motor een verandering in rotatie door kan voeren e.d. zijn ook allemaal van belang.

Daarnaast mis Logitech vooralsnog het eco systeem. Waar je bij andere merken nog de keuze hebt uit verschillende stuurwielen is dat bij de Logitech G Pro racing wheel vooralsnog beperkt tot het meegeleverde stuurwiel. Het stuurwiel is wel te verwisselen (QR lijkt overigens veel op de QR1 van Fanatec) dus andere stuurwielen zullen ongetwijfeld volgen in de toekomst.
